MATCHUPS TO WATCH:
Giovani dos Santos vs. Jared Watts

The LA Galaxy missed their Mexican striker during their defeat to Toronto and with dos Santos set to return to the lineup, they’ll need him at his best against the league leaders. Should dos Santos return to scoring ways, it’ll certainly be a big boost for a Galaxy offense that has struggled recently.

Marco Pappa vs. LA Galaxy defense

The wily Guatemalan has terrorized the Galaxy in the past and will look to exploit the Los Angeles defense once again on Wednesday. Look for Galaxy defenders to blanket Pappa and limit his opportunities on the ball.

Mike Magee vs. Dennis Castillo

Magee will be eager to rebound after the veteran attacker struggled mightily against Toronto last weekend. Expect Magee to connect early and often with the returning dos Santos as he seeks to get back on the score sheet.

WHAT THEY SAID:

“They deserve all the credit in the world. After last year you wouldn’t have guessed they’d be in this position. You can’t count Pablo Mastroeni out ever.” – Mike Magee on if he’s surprised by the Rapids performance this season.
