California Clasico draws one million viewers on Univision; most watched MLS game since 2008 | INSIDER

A record one million people tuned in on Univision to watch the LA Galaxy’s California Clásico clash with the San Jose Earthquakes last Saturday.

The first Major League Soccer match broadcast live on Univision since 1999 drew significant viewers at home as one million people tuned in, including a whopping 548,000 between the ages of 18 and 49. Last weekend’s match was broadcast immediately following the United States’ third-place game with Colombia.

Not only is the match the most watched game this season, but it is also the most viewed regular season or postseason game in Spanish in league history. The game is also the first MLS match to draw one million viewers since David Beckham's Galaxy faced D.C. United in 2008.
