Match Report: LA Galaxy grab hard-fought 1-0 win away to Seattle Sounders

Robbie Keane’s first-half goal was the difference to help lead the LA Galaxy to a 1-0 win over the Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field Saturday afternoon

The Irish international put the visitors in front with his second goal in as many games in the 15th minute. With a crisp first-time pass from the touchline, Dave Romney freed Gyasi Zardes, who raced past Zach Scott. Zardes played a low cross to Keane, who slid and fired in off the crossbar from eight yards for his 79th MLS goal with the Galaxy.
The Sounders nearly equalized in the 53rd minute when Tyrone Mears played a perfectly weighted ball to Jordan Morris, who beat a charging Brian Rowe to the ball. Morris put a shot on frame, but AJ DeLaGarza did well to block the attempt on the goal line.
Clint Dempsey had a chance in the 76th minute, but Rowe did well to parry his header over the crossbar. The U.S. international had another quality chance in the 82nd minute, but he put a close-range shot off the post.
