CARSON, Calif. (Monday, Aug. 8, 2016) – LA Galaxy II are preparing for the first of a five-game road stretch that starts on Saturday, Aug. 13 at OKC Energy FC. The game will be played at Taft Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla. and the match will kick off at 5:30 p.m. Fans will be able to tune into the match live at www.lagalaxy.com/2.
Over the weekend, LA Galaxy II (9-4-8, 35 points) fell to Portland Timbers 2 (6-11-4, 22 points) by a score of 4-3 on Saturday, Aug. 6 at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium. The team played in front of 2,019 fans, the largest crowd for a Los Dos game at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium.
In his first start back from an injury that kept him sidelined for most of the summer, forward Ariel Lassiter put home his third and fourth goals of the season including a left-footed golazo in the 15th minute.
Despite the loss, LA Galaxy II still remain second in the USL Western Conference standings. They sit behind Vancouver Whitecaps FC (10-5-7, 37 points). Sacramento Republic FC (9-6-7, 34 points) is third and Colorado Springs Switchbacks are fourth (9-6-6, 33 points).
