CARSON, Calif. -- Major League Soccer has officially awarded the LA Galaxy's 62nd-minute goal in their 1-1 draw with the Colorado Rapids to Giovani dos Santos.
The goal was initially given to defender Daniel Steres, but after further review, it was determined that dos Santos directed the ball into the Colorado net. Steven Gerrard and Steres were awarded assists on the play.
"An additional video angle reviewed shows the ball was touched on its way to goal by No. 10, dos Santos," league editorial consultant, Rick Lawes said.​
Dos Santos leads the Galaxy with eight goals scored this season as well as eight assists in 19 appearances.
