To celebrate the release of “The Kicks”, here are my top five favorite Alex Morgan goals

It's finally here!

After much anticipation and an epic premiere party at StubHub Center during an LA Galaxy game, the new Amazon Prime Video show “The Kicks” is now available to be streamed.

Based on a book series by US Olympic Gold Medalist and current US Women’s National Team soccer player Alex Morgan, The Kicks is a live-action series that follows Devin Burke (Sixx Orange), who was the star player on her soccer team until her family moved to California midway through the school year. Now, Devin has to rise to the challenge after discovering her new school team, The Kicks, has been on a losing streak over the last few months and they are badly in need of a leader to rally the team.

To commemorate the launch of the The Kicks, it seemed fitting to look back at some of my all-time favorite Alex Morgan goals for the U.S. Women's National Team. Take a look at five of Morgan's sweet, sweet tallies for the Red, White and Blue below and be sure to head over to Amazon Prime Video and watch The Kicks!

France – 2011 FIFA World Cup

Alex Morgan burst onto the national scene at the 2011 FIFA World Cup with two goals, but none more fantastic than her first World Cup tally against France. The Americans led 2-1 in the closing minutes, and with the French pressing for an equalizer, Morgan and the USWNT caught their opponents on the counter. The goal came as Megan Rapinoe played a ball through several French defenders to an on-rushing Morgan who sprinted down the left side of the field and chipped the goalkeeper to lock down a 3-1 win for the U.S.

Germany - 2013 Algarve Cup

From her time in Diamond Bar to the University of California to the U.S. Women’s National Team, Morgan has been known for her remarkable finishing ability that she showcased in her goal against Germany in the 2013 Algarve Cup. In the 13th minute, Sydney Leroux’s cross was headed down by a German defender onto Morgan who rifled her shot into the top corner of the net. Morgan ended the match with two goals for an American side that would go on to lift the 2013 Algarve Cup.

Australia – 2012 International Friendly

The Diamond Bar native’s first-ever goal at her hometown venue of StubHub Center was a world-class finish against Australia back in 2012. In the 55th minute, Morgan received a pass from midfield and then made magic happen as she maneuvered past a defender and placed the ball onto her left foot before launching a blast into the corner.

Germany – 2016 SheBelieves Cup

Morgan has a flare for individual brilliance and unleashed some of that during the USWNT’s match against Germany earlier this year. Running onto a well-weighted pass, Morgan took a touch into space and then played the ball over a German defender onto her opposite foot for a remarkable finish in the Americans’ win over the 2016 Gold Medal winners.

Canada – 2012 Olympic Games

No goal was more important in Morgan’s career than the one she tallied in the 2012 Olympic Games to seal the Americans' place in the Gold Medal match. With their semifinal match against Canada tied 3-3 in the dying moments of extra time, Morgan out-leapt a Canadian defender to nod a Heather O’Reilly cross into the back of the net to seal a dramatic come-from-behind 4-3 victory for the Americans.  The U.S. would go on to defeat Japan to win the Gold Medal.
