REPORT: Goal.com reports that broken foot could sideline Gyasi Zardes for the remainder of the season | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy will be without Gyasi Zardes for the remainder of 2016, according to a report by Goal.com's Ives Galarcep.

Sources tell Galarcep that Zardes suffered a broken right foot in the first half of the Galaxy's match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC last Saturday. The challenge occurred in the 49th minute when Kendall Waston brought down Zardes as both raced to chase down a ball along the right side of the field.

The play, which did not warrant a foul from referee Alan Kelly, can be seen below:

If the report is true, the injury ends a strong campaign for the Hawthorne native, who made 19 regular season appearances, scoring six times and adding five assists. Zardes was also a regular for the U.S. National Team, playing nearly every minute during their fourth-place finish at the 2016 Copa America Centenario.
