LA Galaxy II to face Swope Park Rangers in USL Playoffs

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016) - Following a 3-1 win over Real Monarchs SLC Saturday night at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium, Los Dos finished the 2016 USL Regular season with a 12-7-11 record and 47 points. With the result, LA Galaxy II have clinched fifth place in the USL Western Conference standings and will now face Swope Park Rangers at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City on Friday, Sept. 30, at 5:30 p.m. PT in the Western Conference Quarterfinals of the 2016 USL Cup Playoffs.


This marks the third-straight season that LA Galaxy II will appear in the USL Playoffs, reaching the postseason in each year since the team's inception in 2014. Last year, Los Dos were the 2015 USL Western Conference champions, reaching the USL Championship in just their second season. 
Los Dos were lead in goals this year by forward Ariel Lassiter, who tallied nine during the regular season. Galaxy II also led the USL Western Conference in goals scored this season (52). 15 different players have scored for LA Galaxy II in 2016, tied with Sacramento for most of any Western Conference team.
On Saturday night, Galaxy II earned a win in their final match of the regular season behind goals from Ariel Lassiter, Raul Mendiola and Adonis Amaya, who each scored in the team's 3-1 victory over Real Monarchs.
