MLS to support breast cancer awareness in October; Angel City Brigade hosting special fundraiser

Throughout the month of October, MLS matches will be played with commemorative pink goal nets and corner flags as well as a 2016, pink adidas Official Match Balls which bears an MLS WORKS Soccer Kicks Cancer pink ribbon sticker as well.  


The pink nets, corner flags and balls will be on display at the LA Galaxy’s home match on Oct. 23 against FC Dallas


LA Galaxy Supporter Group, Angel City Brigade, will show their support in a Breast Cancer awareness fundraiser. The ACB will be selling special “Think Pink” bandanas with proceeds going to the MemorialCare Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Memorial to offer patient’s cancer support programs. Each bandana is available for $8.

Although great strides have been made in the fight against Breast Cancer, there are numerous reasons to continue supporting research and raising awareness


  • One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
  • Each year it is estimated that over 220,000 women and 2,150 men in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die.
  • It is estimated that 24,400 women and 210 men in Canada will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and that 5,000 women and 60 men will die from the disease.
