FRISCO, Texas – The LA Galaxy understand that if they’re going to win MLS Cup for a record sixth time, the road will likely lead through Frisco.
Los Angeles fell 1-0 to FC Dallas on Saturday in a match that saw the Galaxy clinch a postseason berth – due to the Colorado Rapids win over the Portland Timbers—but also see their Supporters’ Shield dreams go up in smoke. The match was a frustrating one for the Galaxy who only registered a single shot on goal in 90 minutes against Dallas.
“As people always say, the standings don’t lie. There’s a reason that they’re at the top,” Landon Donovan said. “I think that were a little cautious and a little intimidated early in the game, and we didn’t need to be. When we decided that we wanted to take some chances and go for it, we played a lot better. They’re beatable, and it looks like we’re going to have to beat them if we want to win.”
Following the match, the Galaxy were obviously frustrated by their poor showing, but midfielder  Donovan says that the squad must recover quickly and improve if they’re to mount a title challenge.

"There’s a lot of things that need to get better and need to be addressed. I’m clearly new here, so I’ve got to find the right time and way to say things. There’s a lot of things that need to be fixed," Donovan said. "Hopefully, we can start in training, but we need to do it in the games when it matters. We saw some good things and some really poor things, and we need to be better.

"We’re an old team. Everyone knows what needs to get done. It’s whether or not we’re going to do it. If we want to do it and do it the right way then we can win, if not, it’s going to be tough."
