Tickets sold out for USA vs. Mexico World Cup qualifier in Columbus

For the fifth time since Columbus has been the host of one of the biggest rivalries in international soccer, tickets for the USA-Mexico World Cup qualifier, Presented by AT&T, are sold out. The match falls on Veterans Day and opens the Final Round of Qualifying, also known as the “Hex,” for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The match will be broadcast live on FS1 and Univision (kickoff TBD).

Tickets were assigned through a lottery system, and the applicants will be informed of their application status by 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday. Those who are awarded tickets will have their payment card charged by Oct. 13.

For the first time at a U.S. Soccer event, tickets are being issued only as mobile tickets. In an effort to minimize fraudulent resales, no paper, PDF or print-at-home tickets will be issued.

Those who were not successful in the lottery will automatically be entered for any additional seating that can be arranged or for any unused tickets. Any seats that might become available through these means won’t be known until the week of the game. Because the event is a FIFA World Cup qualifier, standing room tickets are not permitted.
