Landon Donovan undecided on potential 2017 return but admits experience was "enjoyable" | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. –  Landon Donovan has yet to decide if he’ll return to the LA Galaxy for the 2017 campaign.

On Thursday, Galaxy boss Bruce Arena told reporters that there had been no discussions between the two parties, but admitted that it is a “probably 50/50” chance that he returns for 2017.

However, Donovan himself did not set a timeline for the announcement of his return.

“Not ready to make any decision. When you lose it stings a little, and I think the entire country has had its mind elsewhere for the past couple of days,” Donovan said. “That’s sort of been the focus, understandably, and we’ll see what happens. I haven’t spoken to anybody yet, but I’m sure those conversations will be happening.”

Donovan made nine appearances with the Galaxy across all competitions, notching a goal and an assist since ending his nearly two-year long retirement in September.

Whether or not Donovan returns, the Galaxy legend believes that his experience this time around has been a greatly pleasant one.

"I enjoyed it a lot, and nobody wants to end that way," Donovan said. "That's tough, but that's part of sports, and I came back with a little bit of a different perspective, where you can appreciate and enjoy the process more.

"The last while that I was playing before [his first retirement], it became more of a job than fun, and when that line got crossed, it was hard for me. But this was enjoyable. I really had fun. I enjoyed playing. It was good to have that to help remind me of the joy that this game has always brought me."
