CARSON, Calif. – LA Galaxy head coach Curt Onalfo expects that Gyasi Zardes to begin his recovery process next week as he recovers from a knee injury.

The Galaxy head coach confirmed on Tuesday that Zardes underwent minor knee surgery after suffering an injury during his participation with a training camp with the U.S. National Team last month. Zardes missed the latter portion of the 2016 campaign with a foot injury after making 19 appearances and scoring six goals with five assists.

According to Onalfo, Zardes is progressing well with the team’s Home Opener less than a month away.

“He’s progressing fine with his rehab and hopefully he’ll be able to start moving stuff early next week,” Onalfo said.
