LA Galaxy announce tryout information for LA Galaxy Girls’ Academy

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Thursday, March 23, 2017) – The LA Galaxy have set tryout dates for the club’s full-funded Girls’ Academy, the club announced today. The LA Galaxy Girls’ Academy, founded in October 2016, will consist of U-14, U-15, U-16/17 and U-18/19 teams that will compete in the U.S. Soccer Girls’ Development Academy League, set to begin in the fall of 2017.

The LA Galaxy Girls’ Academy team, the first and only girls’ program to be fully-funded by a Major League Soccer side, will allow local athletes the opportunity to join free of charges. Each team will consist of up to 23 players from within a 75 mile radius of StubHub Center, home of the LA Galaxy. The teams will train at StubHub Center four times each week while playing their matches in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy League throughout the region.


Girls interested in joining the Academy, born between 1999-2004, should enroll in the respective Evaluation Sessions for consideration. The LA Galaxy will identify and invite interested players to the Evaluation Sessions taking place on March 31, April 1, April 7 and April 8.


To be considered, interested players must register and complete the required USSDA Girls Academy Interest Application, available here. The deadline to register is March 29. A full list of Evaluation Sessions for the 2017/2018 LA Galaxy Girls’ Academy is below.
