Firefighter Paramedic Jason Gates was hired with the LA County Fire Department in 2015. He has worked in various locations and positions throughout the county including Duarte, Palmdale, and Carson. Some of the positions he has held are patrolman, engine and truck firefighter and paramedic.
Jason currently works as a paramedic firefighter and has held the position for over four years. He feels that his current position gives him the best opportunity to help serve the citizens of LA county on a daily basis.
While working in Palmdale he was a member of one of the busiest paramedic squads in the department. On average he would respond to 24 calls for service daily.
During his time in Duarte, he was able to serve with the California Office of Emergency Services. Assisting with fire suppression on many of the wildfires in Central and Northern California. Gates is currently stationed at Fire Station 116 here in Carson, California.
