Injured LA Galaxy captain Robbie Keane taking a wait and see approach to his status for Sporting Kansas City match

CARSON, Calif. – Robbie Keane is back on the training field but his status is still in question heading into Saturday’s match with Sporting Kansas City.

Keane recently returned to training after missing out on the LA Galaxy’s victory over Seattle Sounders FC due to a groin strain. Finally on the mend from the injury which was suffered during the late stages of the Galaxy’s defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps FC earlier this month, Keane is taking a cautious approach to his availability for Saturday.

“I feel good. I trained for the first time today,” Keane told reporters on Thursday. “I just have to assess [before] the game on Saturday over the next two days to see if there’s no reaction. If there’s no reaction, I’ll be ready to go but we have to see how these next two days are.”

Although Keane is noncommittal about his availability, Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena said that the forward is a "possibility" for Saturday
