LA Galaxy goalkeeper Brian Rowe confident ahead of D.C. United test

CARSON, Calif. – Goalkeeper Brian Rowe will step in the net for the LA Galaxy for a third time this season when LA take on D.C. United with the full confidence of the team’s coaching staff.

With incumbent starter Jaime Penedo away on international duty, Rowe will make his third start of the season. In two appearances this season, Rowe has compiled a 1-0-1 record with three saves and only two goals allowed.

Ahead of the match against United, Rowe is confident that the Galaxy can get a result at RFK Stadium despite missing three starters due to international duty.

“I feel good. … Moving forward, we’re just trying to fine tune a little bit and get into more of a rhythm,” said Rowe. “It’s fun working with this backline because they do a great job of defending as a team, and make it fun for me. We’re going to try to go into each game and get the most out of it.”

According to Galaxy boss Bruce Arena, the fact that Rowe has already seen considerable time in goal this season, will only benefit him when he suits up at RFK Stadium.

“It was very important. He’s comfortable now,” Arena said. “He’s prepared to play in this game and that was good. This was all part of the reason that he played in the first game.”
