The Hero of the Match presented by Pirnia Law for June 21 is United States Marine Corps Captain Jourdan Looney.Â
Captain Looney is a native of Waldorf, Maryland and enrolled in the United States Naval Academy where he became a nationally ranked collegiate boxer and team captain. In 2016, Captain Looney graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Oceanography from the United States Naval Academy and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. While at 5th Marine Regiment in Camp Pendleton, Captain Looney supported equipment readiness for four Battalions with over $75 Million worth of equipment.
As a member of 1/5, he served as a Logistics Officer and supported over 950 Marines and Sailors in training operations within the United States. As a Logistics Officer for the Battalion Landing Team 1/5 he logistically supported 1200 Marines and Sailors in forward operations and training in Japan, South Korea, Guam, and Thailand as a part of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. In his current role, Captain Looney is reporting to the Recruiting Station Los Angeles to serve as the Operations Officer and subsequently the Executive Officer.
Some of his rewards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
