This year I’ve had the opportunity to create endless connections and lifelong friendships through the Special Olympics and Unified Sports.
At the beginning of the school year, I joined my high school Unified Sports team and it has been the best part of my year. I heard about the LA Galaxy Unified tryout through a coach for a Unified Team in my district, and when I found out I made the team I was ecstatic. I was excited to build new bonds with new athletes.
This team has been very welcoming. I go out to every practice, and talk with my teammates about our day or our favorite players. The athletes on this team have great talent and have wonderful personalities.
On the weekends, I enjoy getting lunch or seeing a movie with the athletes on the team. They have become my best friends that I talk to almost every day.
I love being able to interact with some of the kindest and most humble people you can meet. This team already feels like a family and I can’t wait for our season to begin.
