Welcome to the Galaxy Fitness Insider. My name is Ben Yauss and I’m the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the LA Galaxy. I hold a Bachelors of Science Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science from Indiana University and am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.) through the NSCA and a Certified Personal Trainer (C.P.T.) through the American Council of Exercise.
I have been working with professional athletes of all sports for five years and have been primarily responsible for the performance development of the LA Galaxy for the past three years.
This blog is something that I have been looking forward to putting together for a long time and something that I am very excited about writing each week. The primary focus of this blog will be looking at how I interact with the Galaxy players and apply performance training to maximize the players’ physical development.
More importantly, though. I hope this blog serves as a platform to engage the fans and allow them even more access into what the Galaxy players do on a day-to-day, week-to-week, and year-to-year basis to stay healthy and perform at their peak potential.
The fans usually only get to see the final product when watching their favorite athletes on TV or at a game, but hopefully this will let you into the world of what goes on behind the scenes that gets these players ready to perform at their best come game day.
