LA Galaxy host Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night | Weekly Schedule

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, May 25, 2015) – The LA Galaxy will play in two matches this week beginning Wednesday, May 27 when they host Real Salt Lake at StubHub Center with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. PT (Time Warner Cable SportsNet, Time Warner Cable Deportes) before traveling to face New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, May 31 at 4 p.m. PT (FOX Sports 1, FOX Deportes). LA Galaxy II will host Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday, May 30 at 7:30 p.m. at StubHub Center’s Track & Field Stadium.

The Galaxy (4-4-5, 17 points) are 11-11-7 against Real Salt Lake all time in their 29 regular season meetings, scoring 42 goals. The match is the second of three times the Galaxy face their Western Conference counterpart this season. In the first match, the Galaxy recorded a 0-0 draw at Rio Tinto Stadium earlier this month behind a shutout from goalkeeper Jaime Penedo.

The Galaxy have earned a 17-15-6 record against New England all time, scoring 60 goals in 38 MLS Regular Season matches goals. Sunday marks the only time the Galaxy will face the Revolution in the regular season this year. In their last MLS Regular Season matchup, LA defeated New England 5-1 July 16, 2014 at StubHub Center behind two goals each from Robbie Keane and Gyasi Zardes and another from Stefan Ishizaki. The Galaxy last faced New England in the 2014 MLS Cup in which the Galaxy became the first club to win five MLS Cup titles behind goals from Gyasi Zardes and Robbie Keane.

In three overall meetings with New England (MLS Regular Season and MLS Cup Playoffs), forward Robbie Keane has scored four goals while forward Gyasi Zardes has collected three goals in three matches against the Eastern Conference side.

The LA Galaxy are on a 28-game unbeaten streak in all competitions at StubHub Center. During the 28-game unbeaten streak at StubHub Center (including 2014 MLS Cup Playoff matches, away matches against Chivas on April 6, 2014 & August 31, 2014 and a CONCACAF Champions League match on March 12, 2014), the Galaxy have outscored opponents 64 to 18 for a +46 goal differential. The Galaxy’s 22-game home MLS Regular Season unbeaten streak (16-0-6) at StubHub Center is the longest in club history and tied for the third-longest in Major League Soccer history.

The Galaxy enter Sunday’s game against New England winless in their last 13 MLS matches on the road away from StubHub Center, including last year’s MLS Cup Playoffs matches. During that span, the team has gone 0-7-6. This season on the road, the Galaxy are 0-5-3 while scoring 4 goals and allowing 11.

The Galaxy defeated the Houston Dynamo at StubHub Center Friday night behind a 92nd minute goal from forward Alan Gordon, his team-leading fourth goal of the season and his second game-winning goal of the year. Since joining the Galaxy last season, seven of Gordon’s nine goals have either tied the game or been match winners for the Galaxy.
