CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy defender Robbie Rogers was named to MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Week after an impressive performance against Columbus Crew SC last Saturday.
In his first start back from a left achillies injury, Rogers was a force along the left side of the field, frequently bombing down the wing to cause trouble for the Crew. The 27-year-old aided in the Galaxy's only goal of the game when his run up field saw the ball deflect off a Crew defender and fall perfectly for Sebastian Lletget for his first goal in a Galaxxy uniform. Rogers nearly scored a goal of his own just before the end of the half after making a strong down field only to see his shot go wide.
Omar Gonzalez was named to the squad's bench for his impressive showing in the Galaxy's draw.
