Giovani dos Santos given clean bill of health following strange play during Philadelphia Union draw | INSIDER

CHESTER, Pa. -- Giovani dos Santos had a nervy moment in the latter stages of the LA Galaxy's 2-2 draw with the Philadelphia Union, but both the Mexican international and head coach Bruce Arena calmed any concerns after the Galaxy's latest tie.

Dos Santos, who notched two assists in the draw on his birthday, was forced to exit the match briefly midway through the second half after a challenge with a Union defender. The commotion caused some confusion during the game, but after the game, Bruce Arena provided context to the dos Santos situation.

"The defender cleated him and went through his cleat. He was bleeding, there was blood on his shoe," Arena said afterward. "All these important things, they are worried about spreading diseases during the game, but there was a little blood on his shoe, so he had to come off."

Dos Santos didn't seem too concerned about any potential issue, however, stating that he was fine after the draw.

"It’s part of the game," Dos Santos said. "I feel good, but I think it was a difficult game, we got a point, and we are happy that we are undefeated [in eight games]."
