Gyasi Zardes progressing from injury but won't return for Conference Semifinals | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – Gyasi Zardes has returned to limited training with the LA Galaxy, but he’s still several weeks away from returning to playing contention.

Zardes underwent surgery back in August after suffering a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot. The 25-year-old has participated in light training for the last several weeks as he looks to recover in time to play a part in the postseason.

According to Arena, Zardes is making progress, but will not be suiting up until at least the Conference Championship, if the Galaxy can advance past the Colorado Rapids.

“He’s doing well,” Arena said. “That isn’t the story right now, just to give you a hint. I’ll wait to see when this game is over with and if we’re still around, then it might be a story.”

Zardes was named a finalist for the league's Humanitarian of the Year of Award earlier this week
