CARSON, Calif. – LA Galaxy head coach Curt Onalfo addressed speculation that the team is seeking to bring in another Designated Player during the summer transfer window.

Sports Illustrated’s Grant Wahl reported on Wednesday that the Galaxy had offered a deal to Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimović that could see him arrive at StubHub Center this summer.

On Thursday, Onalfo did not comment on any specific rumors but said reiterated past comments by club President Chris Klein and general manager Pete Vagenas that the team is always looking to improve the roster.

“The only thing I can say is that we will have the ability to add a significant player and it could be a designated player,” Onalfo told reporters on Thursday. “It’s our club policy not to talk about players that aren’t in our group, so I’ll leave it to that.

“You’re always looking to enhance your team. My focus is on the weekend and making this group better and improving. We always will be looking to make our team better.”
