Best of LA Galaxy II in 2016 | #4: Captain Jack makes it rain goals

Former LA Galaxy II Head Coach Curt Onalfo knew what he was doing when he made Jack McBean captain for the 2016 LA Galaxy II USL season.

McBean wasted no time setting the tone as Los Dos’ leader. After scoring in the team’s season opener, McBean didn’t let up. He continued to score, setting up shop as the USL’s top goal scorer while lifting his team to the top of the USL Western Conference.

He scored 12 goals in his first 14 games of the season, earning the attention of then LA Galaxy Head Coach Bruce Arena. Arena and the Galaxy awarded his success with a first team contract, and McBean was signed to the LA Galaxy in June. He collected two MLS appearances while continuing to feature with Los Dos.

McBean was loaned to theEnglish League One side Coventry City in August. In total, McBean scored 15 goals in 17 Los Dos games in 2016, earning him a spot on the 2016 USL Best XI.
