Gyasi Zardes named to U.S. National Team's 40-man preliminary roster for 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup

LA Galaxy forward Gyasi Zardes was named to the United States’ 40-man preliminary roster for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup.


Zardes is among 40 players selected by U.S. head coach Bruce Arena for the preliminary roster which will be trimmed down to 23-men no later than June 27. The 25-year-old has one assist in eight appearances for the Galaxythis season.  


The USMNT opens the tournament in Nashville against Panama on July 8, before heading south to Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium for a July 12 clash with Martinique. Bruce Arena’s men will close group play on July 15 against Nicaragua at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland.
