LA GALAXY II HEAD COACH MIKE MUÑOZ
On his team’s offensive performance:
“In the second half the keeper made a fantastic save on Justin (Dhillon), I think he was able to get a foot on it. We score that goal and it’s a different game. I think we get at least a point. I thought Ryo (Fujii) had some great services in the box, we were very dangerous. Phoenix defended well though so you have to give them some credit. We had a couple other half chances but overall I thought our performance was pretty good tonight.”
On Didier Drogba’s free kick:
“He was a world class player in his day, I thought we did a decent job in neutralizing him for the most part. But obviously the free kick was top shelf and sometimes you just have to tip your hat.”
On what the team will focus on moving forward:
“It’s been a long week and it’s been a very enjoyable second half of the season so far. The guys are disappointed, but we’re headed to Colorado Springs and I think we just need to keep building off this performance.”
LA GALAXY II FORWARD JUSTIN DHILLON
On the offensive struggles:
“Sometimes the ball just doesn’t bounce our way, I thought the team really pushed forward and tried to make things happen. Hats off to the defense and the keeper for coming up when they did. And there’s positives to take off of it and to bring with us to Colorado.”
On Didier Drogba’s performance:
“He was a hero of mine growing up, I’ve always idolized him. There’s really nothing we can do about a free kick like that. To be on the field with a guy like that as another forward it’s just unbelievable. It’s something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”
On what they’ll be focusing on in the coming weeks:
“We need to keep building on what we’ve done and figure out a way to win. We had four games in a row unbeaten which is a very good streak for our team. I think we need to regroup and try to put this game behind us but also learn from it and go into training with all our minds ready for the next one.”
