CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy’s dreams of the postseason may be on life support, but they aren’t dead just yet.

Los Angeles presently sits 10 points behind sixth place FC Dallas with seven games left on the docket after their 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders FC last week. They’ll continue their bid for a playoff berth this Saturday when they host Supporters’ Shield leading Toronto FC at StubHub Center.

“We just take it game by game,” midfielder Ema Boateng said. “Toronto is going to be a big challenge in our home, but we just have to get ready for that one.”

The first team to clinch a 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs berth, Toronto have impressed throughout the campaign, but they’ll take on the Galaxy without star attackers Sebastian Giovinco and Jozy Altidore. Los Angeles will also be without two key contributors as Jermaine Jones, and Romain Alessandrini will miss the contest due to yellow card accumulation.

For head coach Sigi Schmid, Saturday’s match will be both a reunion and a challenge.

“Greg Vanney is a great friend and someone that I’ve known from my UCLA days and when he played for me for the Galaxy. He’s a great guy and a great coach and done very well with that team,”  Schmid said. “They’re confident and they won’t miss a beat not having those two players. They have a good team chemistry and have kept their group together.”
