Three things we learned from the LA Galaxy’s 3-3 draw with the Houston Dynamo presented by SNHU

HOUSTON – LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano provides the Three Things We Learned from the Galaxy’s 3-3 win over the Houston Dynamo presented by SNHU.

LA GALAXY OFFICIALLY OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS

The LA Galaxy saw their almost decade-long streak of playoff appearances come to an end on Wednesday.

With FC Dallas’ victory over the Colorado Rapids, the Galaxy were officially eliminated from postseason contention. The result by Dallas snaps Los Angeles’ eight-year postseason streak dating back to the 2009 campaign.

The 2017 season has been a tumultuous one for the Galaxy who have plenty to work on if they’re to get back to the postseason streak next season.

BRADFORD JAMIESON IV BEGINNING TO SHIINE

The LA Galaxy’s youngsters have had a rough season, but Bradford Jamieson IV is picking up steam as the season winds down.

Jamieson scored his second goal of the season in Wednesday’s victory in Houston, finding the back of the net off a Giovani dos Santos dish in the 47th minute. Against the Dynamo, Jamieson’s pace helped the Galaxy exploit Houston on the counter and allowed Giovani dos Santos and Romain Alessandrini more freedom to challenge the defense.

Based off his recent showings, the 20-year-old seems to have earned his way into Sigi Schmid’s good graces and will likely see more minutes in the final three games of the year.
GYASI ZARDES CONTINUES TO PROGRESS AT RIGHT BACK

Gyasi Zardes put in a solid shift in his second career game at right back in the Galaxy’s match in Houston on Wednesday.

Zardes helped lock down the right side in his second straight game at the outside back position as Houston struggled to get much going along the flank. The 26-year-old striker-turned-defender making four interceptions and a tackle during his shift. The game was not without its hiccups, however, as Zardes was out jumped on the sequence that led to Houston’s equalizer.
Zardes’ physicality and natural speed give him all the tools to play the outside back position and if Schmid continues to give him minutes there, he could develop into a fine defender.
