Gyasi Zardes, LA Galaxy and Herbalife Nutrition to unveil two new mini-pitches at Jim Thorpe Park in Hawthorne

The LA Galaxy announced today the club has partnered with Herbalife Nutrition to install two new mini-pitches at Jim Thorpe Park in Hawthorne. With Herbalife Nutrition, the LA Galaxy Foundation and Gyasi Zardes will host a grand opening ceremony to dedicate the new fields on Monday, Dec. 4 at Jim Thorpe Park.


The mini-pitches will be opened in conjunction with the City of Hawthorne, Department Recreation and Community Service and the Hawthorne Police Department. LA Galaxy President Chris Klein, LA Galaxy forward Gyasi Zardes, Herbalife Nutrition CEO Richard Goudis and Hawthorne Police Department’s Chris Cognac are expected to speak at the event highlighting LA Galaxy Foundation and Herbalife Nutrition’s commitment to help local children pursue healthy, happy and active lifestyles.


Following their remarks, a soccer clinic for 50 local youth will commence to officially open the mini-pitches.


The courts are opened following the overwhelming success of the LA Galaxy Foundation’s courts at Memorial Park in Hawthorne, installed in January 2016 in partnership with Chevrolet.
