CARSON, Calif. – LA Galaxy Special Olympics Unified player Logan Jones’ blast against the San Jose Earthquakes has been nominated for the 2017 LA Galaxy Goal of the Year presented by AARP.
The Special Olympics Unified player launched a screamer in the closing minutes of the Unified team’s 4-0 victory over the Earthquakes on Aug. 27. Jones’ goal not only earned him Goal of the Month honors for August but was also included in SportsCenter’s nightly Top 10 feature.
Jones and the LA Galaxy Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC) Unified squad enjoyed a perfect season in 2017, winning all three games, tallying 20 goals while carrying a +15 goal differential.
