MLS to make major announcement in Miami today

Major League Soccer announced on Friday that it will make a major announcement regarding the future of soccer in Miami in an event to be held there on Monday, January 29.

The 9 a.m. PR announcement from Miami's Adrienne Arsht Center will be streamed live on MLSsoccer.com, FoxSoccer.com and aired live on Univision Deportes Network (UDN) in the USA; it will be streamed live on TVA Sports in Canada. The livestream will also reach a global audience via MLS international broadcast partners Sky Sports and FOX Sports (Latin America).

Hundreds of tickets made available to the general public were all claimed via online RSVPs less than two hours after details were shared via social media. A standby line will be set up at the Adrienne Arsht Center for Monday’s walk-up crowd, which will have first priority for any additional seating that becomes available.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber, former LA Galaxy star David Beckham, Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure, MasTec co-founders Jorge and José Mas, SoftBank founder and CEO Masayoshi Son, Simon Fuller, Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez are among those scheduled to attend the event, which will be hosted by Univision’s Ramses Sandoval.
