Weekly Schedule: LA Galaxy II return home to host Phoenix

LA Galaxy II (7-7-8, 29 points) are playing at home this week, facing Phoenix Rising FC (13-2-5, 44 points) at 7 p.m. PT on Saturday, August 3^rd at Dignity Health Sports Park (ESPN+).

LA Galaxy II have not played Phoenix Rising FC yet this season, but faced them twice in 2018, losing in  both matches by one goal. Los Dos last hosted Phoenix Rising at Dignity Health Sports Park, where the teams will face off on Saturday, in April of 2018, with Didier Drogba scoring the lone goal of the game to give Phoenix the win.

Galaxy II most recently defeated Western Conference opponents Portland Timbers 2 2-1 on Sunday. Los Dos struck first, with Ethan Zubak scoring just seven minutes into the match, but Portland leveled the score before halftime. The game looked to be set to end in a draw, but five minutes into stoppage time, Galaxy II midfielder Jose Hernandez scored the game winner, giving the team a huge three points. The Galaxy are now in eighth place in the Western Conference on 29 points, and have jumped into playoff position. Phoenix Rising come into this game having won away against Tulsa Roughnecks FC 1-0 on Saturday.
