20 for Twenty continues as LA Galaxy participate in 2015 AEG Service Day

CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015) – The LA Galaxy will participate in AEG’s 2015 Season of Giving AEG Service Day alongside AEG and the LA Kings this Friday, December 11 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. PT in their final 20 for Twenty community initiative of 2015. The 2015 AEG Service Day will see all Southern California AEG employees – from LA Galaxy, LA Kings, StubHub Center, STAPLES Center, AEG Live, Goldenvoice, AXS and AEG – volunteering at Charles Barrett Elementary School to enhance the school through various beautification service projects. 

AEG Service Day will see the implementation of several community projects at Charles Barrett Elementary School, including painting, gardening and other remodeling initiatives to improve learning environments for all students. In addition to over 400 employees, the service event will be attended by AEG President & CEO Dan Beckerman and LA Galaxy President Chris Klein, among others. Now in its 7th year, AEG’s Season of Giving is the company’s annual initiative designed to raise funds and generate awareness for non-profit organizations that serve youth and families residing in low income households in Los Angeles County.


FRIDAY’S SERVICE DAY COMPLETES LA GALAXY’S 20 FOR TWENTY INITATIVE
The 2015 AEG Service Day marks the culmination of LA Galaxy community initiatives in 2015, highlighted by the 20 for Twenty initiative, a year-long initiative featuring the implementation of 20 unique community service acts to celebrate the Galaxy’s 20th season in Major League Soccer. Overall, over 415 LA Galaxy volunteers spent over 2,000 hours in the Los Angeles community in various service projects, including welcoming 100 high school girls to attend the Galaxy’s first Women’s Soccer Seminar, signing the LA Galaxy Special Olympics team which traveled to face FC Dallas, donating over 5,700 tickets to non-profit youth groups, and contributing over half a million dollars to community programs and national non-profits, among others.
