LA Galaxy II host fellow USL side Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC this Saturday, March 19, at StubHub Center in what is the final preseason matchup before the start of the 2016 USL season. Los Dos open the season against Arizona United SC on March 26 at StubHub Center.
Switchbacks FC enter their second season of USL play after their inaugural season in 2015. Last weekend, Galaxy II tied 1-1 against CSU Northridge on Saturday, while seven LA Galaxy Academy players got their shot in a Los Dos kit during Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Albion SC Pros.
Los Dos begin the 2016 season after winning the USL Western Conference title last year, reaching their first-ever USL final. This offseason, Galaxy II added forward Denzel Slager, midfielder Bryam Rebellon and defender John Neeskens, while returning a core of talented youngsters who were key in the team’s successful 2015 campaign. LA Galaxy II have gone 5-1-2 in their preseason campaign in the buildup to this year’s opening match.
