LA Galaxy II and Real Monarchs SLC, two teams coming off wins over Saint Louis FC, will meet this Saturday, April 2, at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, beginning at 6 p.m. PT.
This weekend’s fixture will serve as Galaxy II’s third match of the season, while Real Monarchs will be participating in only their second. In addition, it will be Los Dos’ first road game of the season.
LAST MATCH
LA Galaxy II: Los Dos defeated Saint Louis FC in the team’s second straight home game to start the season. Two goals from captain Jack McBean, one a stunning free kick, propelled Galaxy II to another win and a perfect 2-0-0 start. LA Galaxy II recorded its second clean sheet of the season and allowed only one shot on goal in the contest.
Real Monarchs SLC: Real Monarchs snatched a game-winner at the end of the team’s season opener against Saint Louis FC at Rio Tinto Stadium last Saturday. Salt Lake forward Maikon Orellana scored in the 90th minute to lock up all three points for his club. Seven players on loan from Real Salt Lake featured in the match.

GAME NOTES
- Ahead of this weekend’s match, centerback Lee Nishanian has featured in 26 USL matches for LA Galaxy II. His defensive counterparts that featured in the team’s win over Saint Louis FC on Wednesday have participated in five fixtures combined. New signees Josh Turnley and Nathan Smith made their USL debuts in the team’s opener last Saturday. Jeffrey Payeras made his USL debut on Wednesday night.
- Los Dos may rely on goalkeeper Bennett Sneddon with LA Galaxy’s Clement Diop on the road with the LA Galaxy in Vancouver. If Sneddon earns the starts, it will be his first USL start. In Galaxy II’s first two matches, Diop recorded two clean sheets and four saves.
- Captain forward Jack McBean scored the 12th and 13th goal of his USL career with Los Dos on Wednesday. McBean tallied four braces in preseason play; he appears to be continuing in form.
- In 2015, LA Galaxy II recorded the best road record in USL, going 11-7-0 in all competitions including regular season and playoffs.
- In 2015, Real Monarchs SLC failed to make the playoffs in their first season of competition, going 7-13-8 on the season and finishing last in the Western Conference.
