CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena confirmed that Nigel de Jong will miss the Galaxy's match with the Houston Dynamo on Friday.
Sports Illustrated reported earlier this week that De Jong will receive at least a retroactive red card suspension for this tackle on Darlington Nagbe last week. The Portland Timbers training staff revealed on Tuesday that Darlington Nagbe will be out an undetermined amount of time due to a sprained ankle.
The MLS Disciplinary Committee has yet to issue an official ruling on the length of De Jong's suspension.
"He will not be available for the game against Houston," Bruce Arena said. "The suspension has not been determined yet, but we know it's at least one game."
