Rio Grande Valley FC (2-1-1, 7 pts.) are set to make their club’s home debut this weekend when LA Galaxy II (2-0-4) travel to RGV FC Toros Stadium in Edinburg, Texas for the two sides’ first-ever meeting on Saturday, April 30 at 5:30 p.m. PT.

Coming into the match, Los Dos are riding a four-game draw streak and have yet to get a win in April. However, Curt Onalfo's side is also unbeaten on the season, a considerable improvement from the team’s first month of play in 2015 when they went 1-3-1.

LA hit the road this weekend for only the second time of the season. In their first away match against Real Monarchs SLC on April 2, Los Dos came back from a 3-0 halftime deficit to salvage a point on the road. Galaxy II were down 3-0 through the 80th minute before goals from Ethan Zubak, Ryo Fujii and Jack McBean brought Los Dos level.

Rio Grande Valley FC is one of six USL expansion clubs to join the league in 2016 and will be playing their first home game in club history on Saturday. RGVFC started the season with a four-game road stretch during which they earned wins over Portland Timbers 2 and Real Monarchs SLC. They are averaging 1.25 goals per game while allowing just one.

LAST MATCH

LA Galaxy II 2 | Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 2: LA Galaxy II were first on the board for the third straight game and held a 2-0 halftime lead behind goals from Jack McBean and Jose Villarreal. But also for the third straight game, the visitors came back to secure a draw against Los Dos at StubHub Center.

McBean’s goal, his fifth of the season, brought him to second place in the USL Golden Boot race. Villarreal converted a free kick for his second goal for Los Dos in 2016.

Real Monarchs SLC 0 | Rio Grande Valley FC 1: In their fourth straight road game to start the season, RGV FC got on the board early with a goal from Robert Casner in the 24th minute. RGV FC was then able to maintain the shutout and earn their second victory of the season.
