Galaxy II have forged quite the history with the Northern California rival in just two years of USL participation. The last time they met, Galaxy II defeated Sacramento in the first round of the USL Playoffs in a 1-0 win on September 26. A year prior, they were knocked out in the 2014 playoffs by Sacramento. But in regular season matchups, Sacramento hold a firm 5-1-2 series edge. Los Dos have never won at home against Sacramento.
LA, one of two remaining unbeaten sides in the USL this season, ride a two-game win streak into Saturday’s match. The two wins come after a stretch of four consecutive draws for Los Dos. In each of the last six matches, Galaxy II have been first on the board.
Los Dos have scored the most goals in the USL in 2016 (17) and they are the only team in the league to average more than two goals per game (2.13). Their captain forward Jack McBean leads the league in goals scored (9) after netting a hat trick against Colorado Switchbacks FC on May 4. Last year, McBean had six goals on the season.
Sacramento, on the other hand, bring a three-game losing streak into Saturday’s game. They’ve failed to score in their last four matches and have scored only two goals in the six games they’ve played in 2016. They’re the lowest-scoring team in the USL.
But also important to note is Sacramento’s defense. Through six games, they’ve allowed only three goals, giving them the league’s lowest GAA (0.50). But after starting the year with three straight shutouts, they’ve allowed one goal in each of their last three games. On Wednesday, Colorado Springs also had a 0.50 GAA ahead of kickoff. They had allowed three LA goals by the final whistle.
Ahead of the match, LA Galaxy mascot Cozmo will be hosting “Cozmo’s Taco Tailgate” taking place from 5:45 – 7:15 p.m. PT. A taco truck will be on hand in Lot 18 to provide tacos to 150 of Cozmo’s best friends. Fans are encouraged to bring their own beer or beverages and arrive early as Cozmo’s famous tacos won’t last long. In addition to Cozmo's Taco Tailgate, fans can also enjoy $2 dollar tacos and beer within the confines of the StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium during the game. Parking for the match is free.
LAST MATCH

LA Galaxy II 3 | Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC 2: Los Dos were first on the board in their fifth straight match of the season when Jack McBean earned and then converted a penalty kick in the 32nd minute. McBean added two more in the second half for his first hat trick in a Los Dos shirt. Colorado Springs scored two goals after the 75th minute making the closing minutes a little tenser for the home side, but ultimately, Los Dos prevailed and earned its second consecutive win.

Sacramento Republic FC 0 | Orange County Blues FC 1: Sacramento failed to score in its fourth straight game in its second consecutive 0-1 loss at home. Blues midfielder Pavle Popara capitalized on a missed clearance from Republic FC midfielder Danny Barrera in the first half, finishing a 1-on-1 with Sacramento’s keeper. The score would hold until the final whistle, disappointing a sold-out crowd at Bonney Field.
