CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, July 5, 2016) – The LA Galaxy will travel for an MLS Regular Season matchup this Saturday, July 9, against Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field (12 p.m. PT; ESPN, ESPN Deportes). LA Galaxy II enter a bye week in USL play. They resume on Saturday, July 16, against Portland Timbers 2 at Merlo Field.
All time, the Galaxy are 8-4-6 against Seattle in MLS Regular Season matches, including 3-3-3 in road matches. In their most recent contest, the Galaxy fell to Seattle 3-2 on the road at CenturyLink Field last season in the 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs. Saturday will mark the first of three MLS contests between LA and Seattle this year (July 9, July 31, Sept. 25). This month, the Galaxy will face Sounders FC three separate times, including two MLS matches at CenturyLink Field and a 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup fixture at StubHub Center.
The Galaxy earned a 2-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC Monday night behind goals from Robbie Keane and Jeff Larentowicz. With the win, the Galaxy have 26 points in MLS play and sit in fourth place in MLS Western Conference standings. With 30 goals on the season, the Galaxy are tied for first in MLS.
