In a rematch of last year’s USL Western Conference Final, LA Galaxy II (9-4-8 35 points) are on the road at Taft Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla. to take on OKC Energy FC (8-3-9) on Saturday, Aug. 13. The match will be streamed live for free at www.lagalaxy.com/2.

After a disappointing 4-3 defeat to Portland Timbers 2 at home on Aug. 6, LA will kick off their longest road stretch of the season starting with Saturday’s game against OKC Energy FC. It’s the first meeting of the season between the two sides. Last time they met, LA defeated OKC 2-1 at Taft Stadium and were crowned Western Conference champions.

LA Galaxy II continue to lead the league in scoring (43) goals and are the only team to average more than two goals per game. They’ll be going up against the league’s best defense in OKC, a side that has allowed only 14 goals in 20 games. LA will be bolstered by the return of Jose Villarreal and Jaime Villarreal, who both missed the team’s last outing due to yellow card accumulation. Villarreal is Los Dos’ second leading scorer this year with six goals. Ja. Villarreal co-leads the team in assists with four.

Another player who recently returned to the fold is forward Ariel Lassiter. In his first start since coming back from injury last week, Lassiter scored two first-half goals. He’s has now scored five goals in eight games for Los Dos and seamlessly returned to form last Saturday. He scored Los Dos’ opening goal against Energy FC in that Western Conference championship.

LA Galaxy II are currently third in the USL Western Conference standings. They sit behind Colorado Springs Switchbacks (10-6-7, 37 points) and Vancouver Whitecaps FC (10-5-7, 37 points). Sacramento Republic FC (9-6-7, 34 points) is fourth and OKC Energy (8-3-9, 33 points) are fifth.

Next up, the road trip rolls on for Los Dos. They’ll return to SoCal to take on Orange County Blues FC on Saturday, Aug. 20 at Anteater Stadium in Irvine, Calif. In their last match there, LA Galaxy II were shutout 2-0. For a full LA Galaxy II schedule, visit www.lagalaxy.com/schedule/2.
