BAGGIO HUSIDIC vs. COLUMBUS CREW SC

Baggio Husidic couldn’t help admit that his screamer against Columbus Crew SC was one of the finest goals of his life. Husidic opened the scoring in the Galaxy’s 2-1 win over the reigning Eastern Conference champions with a miraculous hit from distance in the 78thminute. With the Galaxy searching for a goal late, Husidic broke the deadlock with his right-footed shot from beyond 25 yards.

GIOVANI DOS SANTOS vs. COLUMBUS CREW SC

The 27-year-old Mexican international scored the eventual winner over the Crew in the 82ndminute when he sprinted downfield after a pass from Robbie Rogers and coolly chipped Columbus goalkeeper Steve Clark from close range. Dos Santos’ goal was the first Galaxy goal since the 2012 campaign to win MLSsoccer.com’s Goal of the Week.

Alone against Nick Rimando, Boateng calmly beat the Salt Lake goalkeeper at the near post to put the Galaxy ahead in the seventh minute.

RAUL MENDIOLA vs. REAL MONARCHS

The goal came in the 66thminute when Lassiter delivered a piercing ball through the Monarchs defense which found Mendiola who easily knocked the ball into the back of the net. Galaxy II went on to defeat the Real Salt Lake affiliate 3-1 on Fan Appreciation Night at the StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium.

LANDON DONOVAN vs. SPORTING KC

Landon Donovan signaled his return to Major League Soccer in a major way with his equalizer in the Galaxy’s 2-2 draw with Sporting Kansas City on Sept. 18. In just his second appearance since ending his retirement, Donovan launched an instinctive left-footed shot past goalkeeper Tim Melia to help the Galaxy rescue a point from their match at Children’s Mercy Park.
