Romain Alessandrini to play between 30 to 45 minutes in LA Galaxy's preseason finale with Portland Timbers | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – Romain Alessandrini will likely play 45 minutes for the LA Galaxy in their final preseason match of 2017 on Saturday.

Head coach Curt Onalfo told reporters on Friday that Alessandrini will feature between “45 to 30"  minutes in Saturday’s match against the Portland Timbers. The 27-year-old went 30 minutes in the Galaxy’s preseason scrimmage with Real Salt Lake earlier this week.

Alessandrini says the plan is for him to progress “step by step” ahead of next week’s regular season opener against FC Dallas, but Onalfo is confident that he’ll be able to contribute when the time comes.

“We just have to make a determination to see if he’s fit enough to start the game, but we believe that he’ll be in a position to contribute and help us. The plan is 45 or 30 minutes [on Saturday],” Onalfo said. “He’s progressed nicely, but he’s just got into town. When that happens, you just need to incorporate the player as quickly as possible but at a rate that is good for him.”
