At the height of the pandemic, San Bernardino hospitals were experiencing a daily increase in COVID positive patients, at a faster rate than LA County. As the number of critical care patients rose, all of the beds for COVID patients in the hospital’s isolation areas were filled. There became an immediate need for structural changes to provide high-quality care. As such, Matt was part of a facilities team that worked around the clock to design and build new areas of the hospital to care for more patients while safely protecting patients and staff alike. Matt’s can-do attitude is what makes him our Hero of the Game!
