LA Galaxy forward Robbie Keane feeling positive about his status for Colorado Rapids match | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. -- Robbie Keane missed out on the 2015 AT&T MLS All-Star Game with a shoulder injury, but the LA Galaxy's Irish captain is confident that he'll be available for selection for Saturday's clash with the Colorado Rapids.

Keane picked up the injury last Saturday during the club's 3-0 defeat to the Houston Dynamo, and has taken part in limited training this week. After training on Thursday, the 34-year-old forward was feeling positive about his status for this weekend's match but admitted there were still some hurdles to overcome before his shoulder is fully fit.

"It's good. I trained today, I trained a bit yesterday with no contact.  It's fine but it would have been a big risk if I had a fall. Obviously, it was the doctor's decision to keep me out," Keane told reporters. "I didn't fall or anything today, there was no contact. I still feel a little bit stiff but certainly a lot better than I was on Saturday. ... Today, I wasn't pushing off people, I was just being clever and not getting involved in any contact."

As optimsitic as Keane may be, Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena said that it was no lock that the forward or Steven Gerrard -- who is suffering from a muscle injury -- will be ready in time to play on Saturday.

“We’ll see,” said Arena. “We’ll see how they’re feeling tomorrow.”
