Robbie Keane suffers minor injury during LA Galaxy defeat to Houston Dynamo | INSIDER

HOUSTON – Robbie Keane picked up a minor right shoulder injury during the early stages of the LA Galaxy’s 3-0 defeat to the Houston Dynamo but the Irish striker is optimistic that the knock will not keep him out of any future matches.

The Galaxy captain was spotted wearing a sling during postgame media availability after suffering the injury in the first half.  There was no shortage of potential incidents throughout the match as Keane frequently tussled with Dynamo defenders, and in one instance in the 32nd minute, was piled upon after forcing Tyler Deric to make a save.

However during the postgame media availability, Keane could not recall exactly when the injury first surfaced.

“I don’t know. Not sure. Something happened in the first half. I felt something and then at halftime it started to stiffen up and then obviously after the game I can’t lift it over my head. I can’t remember which incident it was.”

But will it keep Keane out of next week’s trip to the Colorado Rapids? The Irishman is cautiously optimistic that there will be no issue.

“Obviously, I don’t know. I’ve just seen the trainers,” Keane said. “When you can’t lift it over your head there’s obviously something wrong. I’m hoping that it’s not too bad.”
