LA Galaxy and Herbalife Nutrition announced last week the launch of the LA Galaxy Player of the Month Award, a voting competition for LA Galaxy fans to name the team’s best player for each month of the 2017 season. Fans will be able to choose from three nominated players at LAGalaxy.com/POTM, where they can also enter the Herbalife Player of the Month Sweepstakes.

The three players nominated for the month of March are Romain Alessandrini, Clement Diop and Dave Romney. March’s Herbalife Player of the Month will be announced on April 6, with fan voting closing on April 5.
Alessandrini, the LA Galaxy’s newest Designated Player, is up for nomination after making three starts in the month of March, topped by a two-assist performance in the team’s 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake on March 18. Alessandrini provided the game-winning assist to Ema Boateng in the 74th minute of that contest, lifting LA to its first win of the season.
Diop was nominated after allowing only one goal per game in his two starts for the Galaxy in March. Before recording two crucial saves to help LA to their first road win against RSL, Diop made four saves against Portland while playing the majority of the game with a 10-man side.
Dave Romney rounds out the group, after blasting home the equalizer against Real Salt Lake on a corner from Alessandrini. Romney made two starts for the Galaxy in the month of March.
When a fan votes for a player online at LAGalaxy.com/POTM, they can enter to win the Herbalife Nutrition Player of the Month Sweepstakes. Each month, the sweepstakes winner will receive four VIP match tickets to a 2017 LA Galaxy home game. The winner and their three guests will also win a meet and greet with the Herbalife Player of the Month at the LA Galaxy’s training grounds at StubHub Center.
