CARSON, Calif. -- Mike Magee recently sat down with MLSsoccer.com's ExtraTime Radio to tell stories from his "glory days" as well as a few hilarious anecdotes about former teammates and LA Galaxy legend David Beckham.
In a chat with ExtraTime Radio's hosts, Magee touches on a number of topics, but the real fun started when he spoke at length about the famed English midfielder's off the field demeanor. Despite being one of the world's most famous men, Magee said that Beckham was down-to-earth and that all the stories about his posh behavior were a "lie."
"He was incredible and the only person in the world who would have turned out how he did with all the temptation and money. Hats off to him," he said.
Magee also revealed that when Becks struck one of his world-class free kicks, the midfielder would whisper "bent it just like Beckham."
