Giovani dos Santos started and went the distance as Mexico came from behind to defeat New Zealand 2-1 in their Confederations Cup group stage match in Sochi.

Chris Wood put the Kiwis ahead just before the end of the first half, but Mexico tallied two unanswered goals in the second stanza from Raul Jimenez and Oribe Peralta to keep Juan Carlos Osorio's side unbeaten. Mexico's win officially eliminated the champions from Oceania from the tournament.
